  	Devil's Well Devil's Well is a large sinkhole with a narrow opening, that leads into a large, deep underground lake with no other entrances. The lake is part of the cave, cavern, and springs system in the area. Notably it connects with Cave Spring on the Current River.   	Bridal Cave Bridal cave is a long, more narrow cave that is entered from a bluff high above the Lake of the Ozarks. Most of the formation flow from one wall. At the "back of the cave" there is a final formation with a small hole that can be bridged to connect to a large less decorative cavern area. A new tunnel was carved to allow tourist back to that area. One "mystery" is wooden ladders that were discovered in the "lake" in that room. While the tour guides wonder who and why they drug the ladders through the cave and through the crawl space, to me it suggests that there was a lower entrance to the cave and the ladders were left prior to the creation of Lake of the Ozarks by people exploring an uncharted cave in a region honeycombed with caves.   	Akers Ferry Akers Ferry crosses the Current River at relatively shallow ford. An adult is often able to "walk" across the river. The ferry is tethered to a cable crossing the river. It is actually the tethering angle and current that propels the ferry back and forth across the river. There is no inboard or outboard motor driving a jet or propeller to send the ferry back and forth. Not far away is the old Akers Cemetary which has picnic tables. Akers Ferry is one of the many river tube/canoe/kayak rental with pick-up vendors. I have traveled from Akers Ferry to Round Springs by canoe many times.	From: TomBonham Views: 54 0 ratings
